Privacy
What we do, and don't do, with the memories you share.
Cairn is a memorial platform. People trust us with the photographs, voice recordings, stories, and locations that matter to their families. The short version of our policy: we hold that trust seriously, we don't sell it, and you can take it all with you whenever you choose.
What we collect
- Your email and display name, when you sign in.
- The memorial content you and other contributors add: memory text, photos, video, audio, location coordinates, and comments.
- Basic usage information (pages viewed, approximate location of the request) to keep the service running and to investigate abuse.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data, ever, to anyone.
- We do not run advertising on Cairn.
- We do not train machine-learning models on the memorials you create.
- We do not share memorial content with third parties except narrow service providers (email delivery, object storage, cloud hosting) strictly necessary to run the product.
Your control
- Export. Curators can download a zip of the whole memorial — photos, audio, a full JSON manifest — at any time from the manage dashboard.
- Delete. Curators can delete a memorial permanently; every file is purged from our servers within 30 days.
- Privacy level. Memorials default to private. Public / unlisted / private can be changed at any time.
- Leave. You can remove your own contributions from any memorial you've added to.

Write to us at hello@cairnsalong.com. This page will grow as Cairn does — we'll version it visibly and notify contributors whenever the substance changes.
